Are There Latter Day Prophets?

In this current world, is there one man who we should esteem higher than others? If any man claims to be a prophet, what would Jesus say? Are we not all called to serve? Do we not all have access to the Father by His Spirit? “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”

“Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.  I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.” Prophecy is a spiritual gift according to Paul. The Law and the Prophets were fulfilled in Christ.

If I was to love my neighbor as myself, would I visit them? If I was to love my neighbor as myself, would I help carry their burdens? If I was to love my neighbor as myself, would I lay down my life for them? If I was to love my neighbor as myself, would I ask for their donations to support my ministry, so that I could live off of their generosity? Or, would I travel to the depths of Mordor and back to save them all? “Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”

If we are all called to serve, should we be paid for our service? How is that serving others? Was Jesus paid for serving? Was the early church paid for their service? Below is a very brief video on one of the teachings of the Messiah. I pray that you ponder, consider, and think over, who it is that you are choosing to follow.

In a previous post we covered, “What Christian Ministry Are You Donating To And Why? It Is Better To Give Than To Receive.” Click on the link, and follow along as we ponder the teachings of Paul and the words of Jesus Christ. There are many takeaways within the lesson that should make you question everyone, and everything.

In a more recent post, “Somethings In The Way – Woe To The Shepherds,” we expanded on that previous lesson with an additional verse from the Old Testament. Take the time to pray over who and what you choose to put your faith in. Whatever Jesus tells us, has to be true. The whole foundation of our eternal life is built upon His words and His teachings. Read the Gospels. Read them again. Read them one more time. The words of Jesus Christ is where our life comes from. He spoke as He was instructed of the Father. Everything that he said has significance to our eternal salvation.

There are many Bible studies and lessons within the pages of this website. Dive deep through the Living Word, swim on the surface, expand through the depths, come up for air, and grow in your faith of the Messiah, and the Lord God. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Finally, read the Gospels again.
